Randy W. Miller    [ back to top ]


Randy W. MillerRandy Miller is the managing partner of the firm. Randy's professional background is in taxation. He has a Master's Degree in Taxation, and significant experience in business valuation, business succession, strategic planning, real estate development and management, estate planning and asset protection, income tax planning for individuals and business entities, income tax controversies, and litigation support.

Mr. Miller began working at Miller Giangrande as a staff accountant in 1974. He was promoted in 1979 when he was admitted into the partnership. Randy has always enjoyed the field of taxation and is a graduate of Brigham Young University.

Randy is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the California Society of Certified Public Accountants as well as the American College of Forensics Examiners. His hobbies include reading, music, soccer coaching & refereeing, and time with his family. Randy, his wife and children reside in Brea, where they are active in their church.

Robert C. MuirheadBob Muirhead is partner in charge of the firm's Audit and Accounting Services practice. Business owners demand timely data in their decision making environments, and Bob has made a career of providing the entrepreneur with pertinent information on business performance. He has experience in servicing clients from a wide variety of industries including manufacturing, retail and service based companies, as well as not-for-profit organizations.

Mr. Muirhead began his career with Miller Giangrande as a staff accountant in 1978. His diligence and work ethic were rewarded in 1985 with his admission to the partnership. Prior to joining the firm, Bob worked in the internal audit department of Circle K Corporation in Phoenix, Arizona. Since the job entailed 50% travel, visits to the company's cool weather offices were strategically scheduled in the summer. His college experience included studies at Claremont Men's College, Franklin College in Lugano, Switzerland and culminated with his bachelor's degree in Accounting from California State University Fullerton in 1976.

Bob is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. He serves with several chamber of commerce and rotary organizations. Bob, his wife and son reside in Yorba Linda.



Steven L. Shadwick    [ back to top ]


Steven L. ShadwickSteve Shadwick is partner in charge of the firm's Tax Services practice. Steve's experience lies significantly in business planning, structuring business transactions and helping our staff grow in knowledge and success. Mr. Shadwick has had numerous successes in reducing major tax controversies involving income or sales tax liabilities with our clients. Steve finds the understanding of a client's business gained by walking through their manufacturing plant and facilities to be invaluable in establishing tax planning and defense strategies.

Mr. Shadwick began his career at Miller Giangrande in 1995, and was admitted to the partnership in 1997. He has held management positions in large tax departments of both national and regional accounting firms. Mr. Shadwick earned his bachelors degree from Texas Christian University, including a season as linebacker for their Division I football program.

Steve is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. Steve, his wife and three children reside in Corona.

Mike B. BecherMike Becher heads up the firm's business consulting practice and spearheads practice development. Mr. Becher has over twenty five years experience as both a consultant to management, as well as an officer and owner of entrepreneurial businesses. His expertise includes business planning and financing, mergers and acquisitions for both the buyer and seller, bank financing ranging from tradition lending at prime to asset based lending, negotiating collective bargaining agreements, information systems evaluation and implementation, and litigation support investigation and analysis.

Mr. Becher began his career in the audit department of an international accounting firm. He served for 15 years as Chief Financial Officer for companies ranging from $15 million to $100 million in revenue, operating in such industries as electronics manufacturing, distribution, retail and plastics manufacturing. Mr. Becher earned his bachelor's degree in economics from Claremont Men's College.

Mike is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. He and his four children reside in Brea, enjoy soccer, and are very active in their church.



David A. Prime[ back to top ]


Dave Prime Dave Prime heads up the firm's health care practice. Mr. Prime is a financial management advisor with nearly twenty-five years experience working with medical groups and hospitals. His diverse background and experience has given him the unique ability to evaluate client needs from both the financial and general management perspectives. As a respected health care financial operations advisor, Dave provides comprehensive business office, financial, and accounting advisory services to medical groups and other health care organizations.

Mr. Prime's career has spanned the spectrum of staff positions at large hospitals to his tenure as Chief Financial Officer for Friendly Hills Medical Group. In recent years, Dave has successfully delivered profitable results to his clients as a consultant to management. Mr. Prime earned his Masters of Science Degree in Health Administration from California State University Northridge.

Dave is a member of the Medical Group Management Association and the Healthcare Financial Management Association. He is active in preparing and creating educational activities dealing with the latest issues in medical practice financial management. Dave enjoys sailing and resides in Seal Beach.



Brett Witzel[ back to top ]


Brett WitzelBrett Witzel leads the IT Department which provides important technical support, training and information systems consulting for southern California businesses. He continuously finds success in providing business owners with the reporting systems necessary for sound decision making. Where others finish with off-the-shelf solutions, Brett pushes beyond standards and combines varied resources for finer tuned results.

Mr. Witzel began his career with Miller Giangrande in 1989 a data technician, serving the internal needs of Miller Giangrande. His ingenuity and creative talents quickly earned the respect of clients. In 2001, Brett was named Vice President of Miller Giangrande Technology Services, LLC. He has worked with many different types of clients ranging from Plastics Molding to Health Care Services. He has performed special program development for several clients when "out of the box" solutions have not met the needs of the client. Brett is a certified MAS 90 / MAS 200 software reseller.

Brett is active in his church and enjoys Computer Gaming in his free time. He, along with his wife and children, reside in La Habra.
